Neither article asks why the Republicans suddenly switched from climate science to batshit crazy climate science denial. I think the primary reason for the sudden (in just 4 years) switch is the infusion of millions of dollars from totally batshit crazy billionaires like the Koch Brothers into the GOP campaign coffers.
